I hope the first day of June is being kind to you.
From my end, I'm ecstatic to share that The Prisoner's Apprentice has won the Indie Readers Discovery Award for Historical Fiction.
This is an incredible honor and truth be told I'm still a bit stunned.
It's been an amazing run for me as a debut author. The book's also been awarded an Indie BRAG Medallion and was a category finalist for the Eric Hoffer Book Awards. And the most important honor of all — your 5-star reader ratings on Amazon and GoodReads.
If you'll indulge me, I'd like to take the opportunity to thank Colin and my family for their never-ending support of my scribbling, even though I disappear into my head for hours and come out brandishing family secrets. :)
And happy June to you. Whatever your plans, I hope your month is full of curiosity, joy, and sunshine. As for me, I'm giving myself one full day to celebrate, then it's on to writing the next book.
Meanwhile, Colin and I are appreciating every bit of our land-based interlude (family, bikes, baths), but we're also aiming to return to life at sea in a few years.
We're in full-on exploration mode for the next boat, which involves quite a bit of traveling to check out the options. Meanwhile, we're watching YouTube sailors to fill our heads with boat magic before we sleep.
Fair winds,
Cheyenne
